JC: Where do you live?

SG: My body rests in Frankfurt, Germany, but my mind flies the friendly skies!

JC: How did you make the move from more classical dance choreography and theater to working with commercial brands?

SG: I am still moving strong and steady!

JC: What are the most surprising differences and similarities?

SG: The differences are what keep it interesting. The similarities are what keep me honest. In the end, it’s all about creating a beautiful moment in time.

JC: You’ve done a few campaigns for Juicy with Inez & Vinoodh. Tell us a little bit about these collaborations. What do you enjoy most?

SG: It’s the best! They are always pushing to get the best and the hottest image possible! Never relax; never look back.

JC: What was the inspiration/direction for Karlie in the spring campaign and film?

In my slightly over-conceptualized mind, she was a super-sexy-kapow-wow-sleek-intergalactic-juicy-super-duper-femme-fatal named Juicestress!

JC: There is a lot of action and fake fighting in the film. How do you make it look real without anyone getting hurt?

SG: I got my first sunburn; I got hurt.

JC: Karlie has a background in ballet and a dancer’s body. Did this work to everyone’s advantage? Tell us a little bit about what it’s like working with her.

SG: Even if she didn’t have a background in dance, she would still make it look amazing. She is the future, she is the now—I love her!

JC: We’ve heard you also have a second career as a musician. Do you have any interesting creative projects in the works?

SG: That is true, I have been blessed with many careers. All I can say is keep your eyes open and your ears to the ground!

JC: Tell us something quirky or interesting about yourself (It doesn’t have to be related to dance).

SG: I art-direct my own dreams. There’s no rest for the wicked!

11) What was the most interesting detail about the shoot?

How wonderful the whole juicy crew was. It doesn’t get any better than that!

Pro tip: To look graceful cool, and confident, Stephen says, “Always keep your head up and always tell the truth! Honest and grace are so sexy!”
